Multiwall and Twinwall Polycarbonate

Axiome® Polycarbonate Roofing sheets provide a lightweight and robust roofing solution that can be used in many varied applications. The use of Axiome Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheets is increasing all the time, due to its inherent properties and ease of installation which makes it ideal for DIY & Trade roofing projects such as carports, lean-tos, canopies and more!

Multiwall and twinwall polycarbonate is considered to be the most cost effective option within our polycarbonate sheet range.

UV Protected - We manufacture Axiome® Polycarbonate sheets with lifespan in mind and so protect one side of the sheets with a special UV Protection layer to provide maximum clarity and light transmission, whilst ensuring an estimated lifespan of over 20 years.

Wide range of thicknesses - Similar to our Axgard® Solid Glazing Sheets, we manufacture our Axiome Sheets in a wide range of thicknesses. Available in six different thicknesses from 4mm to 35mm, Axiome® is manufactured in a huge range of sheet sizes to suit virtually every eventuality providing probably the widest selections of polycarbonate globally.

Whether you are looking for a twin wall polycarbonate like the 10mm sheet or a thicker conservatory polycarbonate sheet like the 25mm sheet we will have the sheet for you.

Thickness	Qualities
4mm polycarbonate sheet	The most flexible thickness and is good for temporary glazing and cloches
6mm polycarbonate sheet	6mm is the traditional greenhouse polycarbonate thickness, alongside the 10mm. See also the Axgard 6mm for a solid version that looks like glass.
10mm polycarbonate sheet	Considered to be the minimum thickness suitable for roofing, 10mm is great for small home projects like pergolas.
16mm polycarbonate sheet	The most popular thickness, 16mm is the best option for most projects. E.g. Lean To's, Canopies, Carports etc.
25mm polycarbonate sheet	A strong thickness for good insulation, perfect for a polycarbonate conservatory roof
35mm polycarbonate sheet	The thickest option and best insulator for residential projects

Easy to Cut - Trimming your Axiome polycarbonate sheets on site or at home is stress free, simply use a fine-tooth blade and you'll be surprised how easy clean straight or shaped cuts are. Easy to Install - Not only are they easy to cut, but Axiome sheets are easy to install with any polycarbonate glazing bar system like Snapa® PVC Snap Fix Glazing Bars. Alternatively, for a longer lasting installation, choose our our aluminium Glazing bar ranges. Use the Alukap®-XR Aluminium Glazing Bars for where you have timber or metal rafters and Alukap®-SS Self Supporting Glazing Bars for where you are looking to create a self supporting roof without any rafters!

Selection of Colours - Axiome® Clear Roof Sheets are the most popular and well-known, however, did you know we also manufacture an Axiome Opal and Bronze tint Sheet options? Axiome® Opal is designed to reduce the level of solar energy passing through a sheet and therefore keep the area below cooler, whilst providing a white tint impression and cool bright glow for a modern look. In comparison, Axiome® Bronze helps retain heat and also reduces sun glaze.

Shatterproof - For roof glazing, Axiome® provides peace of mind that it won’t shatter and produce dangerous shards like glass in the event of an impact.

Strength & Flexibility - Axiome® is extruded in a structured form that provides excellent spanning strength whilst maintaining a degree of longitudinal flexibility for curved structures as required. With sheets available up to 7 metres long, the Axiome Range offers one of the largest size ranges available today.

Thinner thicknesses of Polycarbonate sheets naturally achievable tighter curves. For example, the 10mm roofing sheet is great for poly tunnels.

High Insulation Values - Due to the structured design of the Axiome polycarbonate roof sheet they provide a good amount of thermal insulation making them ideal for home extensions and conservatories. The thicker gauges of multiwall polycarbonate, 25mm and 35mm, are the best insulator and are highly recommended for house projects where you are roofing over an internal room.

Which thickness of polycarbonate sheet is best?

It depends on your project, but our most popular thickness is our 16mm polycarbonate sheet as it offers a great mix of durability and cost-effectiveness.

If you are using a polycarbonate sheet for a roofing application, then 10mm is the minimum thickness you should use.
We do manufacture thinner 6mm and 4mm polycarbonate sheets, however, they aren’t strong enough for roofing and are mainly used on cold frames and as greenhouse polycarbonate. If you are using polycarbonate sheets for covering a room, for example on a conservatory, then to ensure good insulation, you should consider our 16mm, 25mm or 35mm sheets.

How do you install polycarbonate roofing?

Installing polycarbonate sheets is a straightforward process for most DIYers. Simply use a compatible glazing bar to join the sheets and secure them to your frame. No specialist equipment is required - just some timber screws and a drill will be fine to start.

Is Axiome polycarbonate easy to cut?

Yes! Polycarbonate is one of the easiest types of plastic to cut at home or on-site. This is a major advantage when you need to trim down on the job. Simply use a fine-toothed blade and follow our ‘How-to’ Video guide to learn how to cut polycarbonate neatly.

We also offer free cut-to-size to save installers from having to cut at all, if they know their dimensions.
