Alukap-XR 45mm Aluminium Glazing Bars are rafter-top bars designed to secure glass or polycarbonate to roofs with smaller rafters.

As the narrower version of the more popular 60mm aluminium glazing bar, the Alukap-XR 45mm glazing bar offers a slimmer profile for installation onto smaller rafters. A slimmer design makes these the perfect potting shed or greenhouse glazing bars.

Alukap-XR 45mm Roof Glazing Bars are fully aluminium and manufactured to endure. With no plastic components or connectors, every part of this glazed roofing system is crafted for strength.

Available in white and dark brown on rapid delivery, you can order today and start your glazing bar project without delay. For more bespoke installations, these roof glazing bars are also available coated to any RAL colour. Simply choose the colour that suits you.

Do your aluminium glazing bars come with end caps?

Yes, the Alukap Glazing Bars come with one glazing bar end cap each. For open-ended roofs or structures simply purchase additional end caps for your glazing bars as required.

Our glazing bars also come with all the screws you require for fixing down to timber. Swap for alternative fixings if you are screwing into steel or other materials.

What rafter gasket should I choose for my glazing bars?

There is a range of rafter gaskets including standard and slot-fitted which are available in both 45mm and 55mm widths. For 45mm rafter glazing bars the 45mm standard rafter gasket is most popular and for 60mm rafter bars the 55mm standard is most common.

The majority of roofing projects use the standard rafter gasket, however, if you have a groove in your rafters then use the slot-fitted gasket. Primarily the slot-fitted gasket is used when installing conservatory roof bars on timber roof lanterns or orangeries.
