Alukap-XR Gable bar is the unsung hero in fixing the edges of a glass or polycarbonate roof securely. It is the ultimate polycarbonate sheet edge trim and side flashing.
Its full cover cap ensures that these aluminium glazing bars protect the fixings on the edge rafters from weathering and create a clean aesthetic. The side flashing design helps reduce wind uplift from the sides of your roof for a long-lasting installation.
These robust glazing bars are manufactured fully from high-quality aluminium. No need to compromise on the quality of your glass or polycarbonate roof side flashing.
Much like the rest of our glazing bars for glass range, the Gable Glazing bar has no plastic connectors or caps to ensure maximum strength. Also, removing the risk of snapping or brittleness. Without any plastic parts, these aluminium glazing bars have significantly better colour fastness and none of the fading challenges.
Concerned with the fiddley design of existing solutions, the Gable glazing bar was created to remove the need for f sections or poor quality side clips. Additionally, its patented innovative design means the Alukap Gable Bar can be used with glass glazing or polycarbonate sheets of any thickness.
Additionally, visually the Alukap-XR polycarbonate edge trim has no unsightly joint lines so offers a clean appearance.
Two standard options, white and brown, are available for immediate delivery or you can choose a bespoke RAL to match your tastes.
Where does a Gable Bar go on a roof?
A Gable glazing bar is used on the last rafters of your roof structure to secure the outside edge of your final glass pane or polycarbonate sheet down. It is an essential component to complete the installation.
Rather than accepting glazing on both sides, the Alukap-XR Gable Bar has a downstand on one side which flashes down vertically over the edge of your sheeting.
On a standard open-sided lean to roof you require two gable bars. However, if your roof is against a wall on either side, then you would substitute for our Wall Glazing Bar to secure the last panel of glazing.
