For best results, PVC wall cladding sheets should be fixed to plywood or plasterboard backing boards. They can be installed with adhesive without the need for messy screws or nails, which look unsightly and also damage the waterproofing of the PVC cladding sheets.
It is also possible to fix PVC wall cladding sheets directly onto existing tiles, provided the tiles are clean and free of grease. Another option is to scratch or score the surface of existing tiles, which gives the adhesive a good grip strength to hold the sheets to.
