Installing a clear solid polycarbonate sheet roof is an easy process, even for those with just a little DIY experience. To secure your glazing sheets to a roof simply use our aluminium glazing bars - these work with any thickness or tint of sheeting. Although not as heavy as glass, it is important to use an aluminium glazing bar to ensure your Axgard Roof is securely fixed down to your rafters.

When a new canopy from scratch, it is worth considering our self supporting glazing bars with the Axgard® as this will remove the need for any timber rafters at all! A quality self-supporting glazing bar structure alongside the Axgard Glazing can last more than 20 years.

What clear solid polycarbonate thicknesses should you use?

If you are building a lean-to-roof or similar external roof then a great thickness to start with is our 6mm clear solid polycarbonate sheet. This is our most popular thickness as it offers a good combination of spanning strength and price point.

If you are installing secondary glazing then our 3mm clear solid polycarbonate sheet is the best thickness option to use because it fits into most secondary glazing systems.
