Axiome Clear 16mm glazing sheets provide a lightweight and robust sheet solution for various roofing and glazing applications. Whether you are building a new lean-to or creating a canopy the 16mm polycarbonate sheet offers a great value proposition.
Axiome Clear 16mm Polycarbonate roofing sheets are easy to cut to size or shape with any fine tooth blade. Simply follow our how-to video to learn how to cut polycarbonate sheets. However, we also offer 16mm polycarbonate sheet cut to size which most installers prefer. When cutting to size remember to allow a tolerance to give you scope to trim down if required.
All Axiome polycarbonate sheets manufactured by Clear Amber are made with UV protection on the outer surface, providing excellent longevity.
Why is 16mm Triple Wall Polycarbonate the Most Popular Thickness?
The 16mm polycarbonate sheet is the most popular multiwall polycarbonate thickness due to offering the best combination of strength versus cost. The structured layers of the triple wall polycarbonate provide greater spanning ability than the 10mm twin wall sheets, which although cheaper have limited spanning capabilities.
Using 16mm triple wall sheeting also ensures a good level of insulation and sound reduction. Another small but important consideration.
For even better spanning strength it is worth considering our 25mm polycarbonate sheet or 35mm polycarbonate sheet. These tend to be used for roof projects covering an internal space, like a conservatory.
How to Install 16mm Polycarbonate Sheets?
To install, simply use a glazing bar to secure your 16mm polycarbonate sheets down to your frame. There is a wide selection of different glazing bars for different projects but the most common are the Snapa 16mm polycarbonate joining bars or Alukap Self Supporting Glazing Bars.
